Jennifer Hudson Sings 'Jesus Promised Me a Home Over There' For Tear-Filled Audience

There are some true powerhouse vocalists who came out of American Idol. One of these is Jennifer Hudson who sings, “Jesus Promised Me a Home Over There,” for a tear-filled audience.

Jennifer now has a talk show called the Jennifer Hudson Show. At the start of the video, she goes up to an elderly woman in the audience. She asks how she is doing and says that she is a lovely butterfly and finds out that her name is Marilyn.

Jennifer asks how old Marilyn is, and she responds 82. The audience cheers for Marilyn. Jennifer says that she heard Marilyn had a question to ask her, and Marilyn responds that she does. She would like Jennifer to sing a gospel song for her today.

The two discuss and decide that Jennifer will sing “Jesus Promised Me a Home Over There.” Jennifer shares that her grandma used to sing that. As Jennifer is standing there with this elderly woman, she begins to sing with such beauty and confidence.

She holds Marilyn’s hand as she sings this gospel song to encourage her. Marilyn joins along, and the audience members have tear-filled eyes. Jennifer’s voice is absolutely stunning, and hearing her proclaim the name of Jesus on television is thrilling. She stands there unashamed, singing about the Savior and the promise of heaven through Him. At the end of the song, she strongly embraces Marilyn in a big hug and the crowd stands cheering. It is completely emotional.

I love how this elderly woman who is likely closer to heaven wants to hear this song and reflect on what Jesus has done and encourage the next generations of His saving grace.

“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2

Oh, I believe in yesterday. Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be.
There's a shadow hanging over me. Oh, yesterday came suddenly.
Why she had to go? I don't know, she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday”

Hero Cat Alerts Family To Life-Threatening Danger Inside Home

One hero cat named Thor saved his family’s life after alerting them to a life-threatening danger inside their home: carbon monoxide gas.

Heidi Stamper lives in Michigan with her husband and two children. Recently, she was asleep in her home when she was startled awake by the sound of her cat.

“About like 1:45 in the morning, the cat started screaming, and it woke me up,” Heidi said.

Her cat, Thor, had become ill, so she took him outside to get some fresh air. After he seemed to be doing better, Heidi brought the cat back inside and went back to sleep. But she still didn’t know about the life-threatening danger inside their home.

“Half an hour later, the cat started screaming again,” said Heidi. “And it woke me up, but this time, I had sweated through all my clothes, I wasn’t able to move, I felt really sick to my stomach.”

Heidi was experiencing the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning. As were her husband and two children who were also inside the house at the time. This resulted from their home losing power and the family running a portable generator inside their garage. They also did not have a carbon monoxide detector inside the house, but thankfully, they had Thor.

The cat’s screeching woke up the kids, and when they found out that their mom wasn’t able to move, they called 911.

“Thor played a crucial role in saving the family of four,” said Fire Chief Jon Unruh. “All four of them were suffering from severe effects of carbon monoxide poisoning.”

“Just the thought that I wouldn’t be here to see my kids, you know, that’s really scary,” said Heidi, choking back tears. “If it wasn’t for Thor, we wouldn’t be here. He saved our lives.”

God bless this heroic cat!

8 Women From 1 Family Wear The Same Wedding Dress

The women in this family all had something borrowed and something blue, with the exception of the first bride. The names and dates of each bride wearing this family heirloom are stitched in blue inside this wedding.

In fact, eight women from one family wore the same wedding dress, stretching a span of 72 years from the first wedding to the most recent.

How did this get started? It started with the oldest sister Adele back in 1950 when this bride purchased her wedding dress for the steep cost of $100! Most wedding dresses nowadays cost upwards of $1,000 or more.

She then passed it on to her sister Elly in 1953. Sixteen years later, the dress was handed down to their younger sister Sharon in 1969.

Then it became a tradition passed down to the second generation when Adele’s daughter wore the dress in 1982. Elly’s daughters did the same too; Carole wore it in 1990, and Jean wore it in 1991 when she became the next bride in the family.

Twenty-two years later, the dress came out of the box once again for Sharon’s daughter Julie when she wore it on her big day in 2013.

Julie said, “It was a given that that was the dress I wanted to wear,” she said. Seventy-two years after the tradition started, Serena, Sharon’s daughter, became the eighth bride to wear the dress in 2022!

For Serena, she had nearly everything a bride needed. The dress became “something old, something borrowed, and something blue.”

They are all happy to report the dress has led to long and happy marriages for each bride. It is something they hope will continue in the future.

Who will be next? They aren’t sure either, but they look forward to when the dress gets passed on to the next bride in the family. What a beautiful way to commemorate generations before and bless generations after.

Revelations 19:8 “It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.”

13-Year-Old Julie Andrews Sings For King George VI In Classic Clip

If you have ever wanted to see a rare clip of a young Julie Andrews, this is a special moment. In this video, 13-year-old Julie Andrews sings for King George VI in a classic clip.

In front of a grand choir, a precious young girl in a cute dress comes out onto the stage. It is little Julie Andrews. She runs over to the microphone and begins by singing the British national anthem. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I are at the 1948 Royal Command Performance at London's Palladium.

Her young voice is very mature and confident for such a young age. She stands with poise and grace as she performs.

Then, suddenly the entire choir and instruments join for a powerful performance. There is such patriotism and high energy from all of the choir and orchestra. You can hear a high note hit at the end of the song that might be Julie herself. The entire audience applauds and cheers after a wonderful performance.

The camera zooms in on Julie in her adorable white dress, standing in front of the choir with a huge smile on her face. She is clapping with immense enthusiasm and happiness. You can tell that this was a huge honor and privilege for her in life. She had the opportunity to sing for royalty at such a young age.

We can feel this type of honor today. The King of all has invited us to His table. He has made us co-heirs with Christ. He has called us His bride. He is so worthy of honor and our song, yet He welcomes us and knows us by name. We serve a personal King.

That he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. Ephesians 1:20-21

Good Samaritans Come Together To Save Elderly Man From Flooded Vehicle

By now, we have seen thousands of people whose lives have been utterly ravaged by Hurricane Ian. Boats were tossed onto shore like a pile of forgotten toys, houses were knocked off foundations, and sharks were swimming in the streets. But that didn’t stop these good samaritans from coming together to save an elderly man from a flooded vehicle.

No one would have blamed these guys if they didn’t try to rescue the elderly man trapped in his car. The floodwaters were raging and getting higher and higher by the minute.

Who knew whether or not they would get swept away? That’s what is so incredible about this story. These men cast aside their fears and knew that if they didn’t help, this elderly gentleman would have likely died.

The rescue took place in Bonita Springs as Hurricane Ian pummeled Florida state. In waist-high flood waters, a group of men banded together to pull the man from the car. Once they seemingly reassured the elderly man they were going to get him to safety, he let go of his car as three of the four men carried him through the raging waters.

Prior to the rescue, one of the good Samaritans said the good had been wedged shut from the fast-moving water. Captioned under the video of this dramatic rescue, Benny stated, “We saw an elderly man struggling in his car, and we knew he needed help. The guys all managed to grab the door and pry it open. He was a bit in shock, so he didn’t want to let go, so we assured him we were there to help him. The guys carefully picked him up out of the car, and brought him to shore, away from the current.”

This rescue reminds me of how God is always looking to rescue one of his children. Whether or not we caused the circumstances, he reminds us he will leave the fold of the 99 and go into the wilderness to bring us back to the fold. Thank God these men were in the right place at the right time, and they were willing to put their lives on the line to get this man to safety!

Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.”

Quick-Thinking Sheriff Saves Choking Baby With CPR

Watch here as a quick-thinking sheriff saves a choking baby with CPR, and a terrified mom breathes a huge sigh of relief!

The school pick-up line is rarely dangerous! There is lots of supervision and cars move slowly; everyone knows the protocols and safety procedures. But, when this Lee County, Florida mom noticed that her infant in the car seat just behind her was not breathing, the pick-up line must have seemed life-threatening!

At 15 seconds into the video, we see the mother jump out of her car and remove her baby from the car seat. She has observed that the child is not breathing, which is a blessing all by itself! It would be easy for a busy or distracted mom to miss that, particularly since the infant was likely making no sound.

Mom is clearly alarmed and begins quickly patting the baby on the back as she calls for help. Another parent points out the school resource officer, and he immediately runs over to assist. Officer Weaver takes the baby into his hands, and, using chest compressions and back thrusts, he soon has the baby breathing again!

What a relief! Baby’s mom wipes the tears from her eyes and tries to calm herself after such a frightening few moments. Her daughter comes from the building and looks up at the officer, probably wondering what has just transpired. Her mother will never forget!

Isn’t it reassuring that, in almost all cases, our law enforcement and emergency personnel can quickly and calmly assess situations and do what is needed—in the streets, at the malls, or our schools? Those service-minded professionals deserve tons of appreciation.

SRO Weaver certainly knew what to do on that rainy Florida afternoon. Without hesitation, he took the actions necessary to save the baby’s life. No doubt, all of the school’s parents feel better knowing their kids are in such good hands with Deputy Weaver!

“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,” Titus 3:1

Man Barely Escapes Death After Falling Onto Train Tracks

Can you say you’ve survived being run over by a train? One man in Argentina barely escapes death after falling onto the train tracks at a train station. In this harrowing video, you’ll see how God provided an absolute miracle for this gentleman.

A man was standing at the train station waiting for his train to arrive when he suddenly loses his balance and falls into the tracks right at the same time as the train comes.

He was on the platform, and the next moment, he was lying on the tracks with the train barreling right over top of him. How he managed to align himself in between the tracks is truly a miracle.

When rescuers arrived to help the man, they assumed it would be a grim and devastating rescue. What they found was the man only had minor bruises on his legs and arms. He was then kept in the hospital for twenty-four hours for observation before being released to go home, safe and sound.

God’s word talks about his provision and protection all the time. In Genesis, God promises to protect Abraham. In Exodus and he sends an angel to guide and protect his people. We read account after account of God saving his people from death and other dangerous situations.

And this ordeal caught on camera is a reminder that God still looks out for us and protects us today! God’s protection was demonstrated in an unmistakable manner. I believe God directed his angels to protect this man from what could have certainly been a horrific death.

May we all take a moment and thank the good Lord for intervening and protecting this man, and may it be a reminder that we are under his protection too.

1 Peter 1:5 “And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation.”

'If I Can Dream' Mother-Son Duet To Elvis Presley Classic

Take a step back in time as this mother-son duo perform Elvis Presley’s ‘If I Can Dream.’

This 1968 hit stayed on the Billboard charts for over 3 months. The inspiring words remind us that there is always hope and a better future lies ahead.

“If I can dream of a better land
Where all my brothers walk hand in hand
Tell me why, oh why, oh why can't my dream come true”

Jordan Rabjohn is a talented musician from the United Kingdom. He was a finalist for Open Mic UK 2016 and named Capital FM's Vodafone Big Top 40 'Future Breaker' in 2016.

Recently, he went viral when he performed a stunning ‘Hallelujah’ duet with his mother, Katherine Hallam.

Now, this dynamic duo is back again with a beautiful rendition of ‘If I Can Dream.’

“We're lost in a cloud with too much rain
We're trapped in a world that's troubled with pain
But as long as a man has the strength to dream
He can redeem his soul and fly”

There’s no doubt that everyone loves this special pair. One viewer said, “No matter what song these two collaborate on, I need to listen with blankets galore since the shivers hit pretty well much on the first note.  No other words.”

Another wrote, “This mother/son duo is wonderful. I have watched old videos over and over because you are so great.”

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these two.

1 Peter 1:21 “Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.”

Woman Sings 'I Know That My Redeemer Lives' For Little Sister Who Passed Away

Watch this touching video of a woman singing ‘I Know That My Redeemer Lives' for her little sister who has passed away.

“I know that my Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead. He lives, my ever-living Head.
He lives to bless me with his love. He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed. He lives to bless in time of need.”

What a beautiful rendition of this song. In the music video, one woman is singing while another woman is playing the keyboard in the middle of a golden field. Then scenes of Jesus flash across the screen as the song goes on.

The woman singing in the video is Nichelle, and the song was done in her little sister’s honor. According to the caption for this YouTube video, “Nichelle's little sister, Heather, passed away on September 19th, 2012 after a 6-year battle with leukemia. Her funeral was held on her 17th birthday, 5 days later, on September 24th. This is the song Nichelle sang with Danie, her sister-in-law, accompanying almost exactly 10 years ago at her funeral. They wanted to perform it again in remembrance of her and hoping to share the healing power Christ can give us, especially as we go through our most difficult and tragic experiences. This song and its beautiful, hopeful lyrics are a representation of their testimony of this healing power offered to all, regardless of what your struggles may be.”

What a touching tribute. “This is so beautiful! Such a perfect song and a beautiful testimony!” one person writes on YouTube after watching the video.

“My favorite version of this song. Sounds incredible,” another person comments online.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this rendition of ‘I Know That My Redeemer Lives' today.

The Martins Sing A Cappella Rendition Of 'Softly And Tenderly'

Listen to this beautiful a cappella rendition from The Martins of the song ‘Softly And Tenderly.’

“Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me
See on the portals He's waiting and watching, watching for you and for me
Come home, come home, ye who are weary come home
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling, calling, ‘O sinner come home’”

What a wonderful version of this classic hymn. As soon as The Martins were asked, “If you were to sing something now, what would you sing?” at the beginning of this video, they all used their amazing voices and harmonies to bring this song to life.

“O for the wonderful love He has promised, promised for you and for me
Though we have sinned He has mercy and pardon, pardon for you and for me”

One sibling starts off singing, and the other two join in with a seamless transition. All of their voices blend so well together, it is just so lovely to hear them all sing. What incredible and beautiful harmonies they have!

“What a blessing to sing to the Lord with your siblings,” one person writes on YouTube after watching the video.

“So beautiful! Nothing like family harmonies!” another person comments online.

The brother-sisters trio that make up The Martins consist of Joyce Martin McCollough, Jonathan Martin, and Judy Martin Hess. While growing up poor in rural Arkansas, the three often practiced singing together, and released their self-titled debut album in 1994. Then the a cappella gospel harmonizers were signed to a label, released their sophomore album titled Wherever You Are in 1996, and a Christmas album titled Light of the World in 1997. Then in 2000, The Martins released an album titled Windows.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this version of ‘Softly And Tenderly’ today and the voices of The Martins were able to uplift your spirits.

Beautiful Father-Daughter Duet To 'You'll Never Walk Alone'

Remember that there is always someone by your side as this father-daughter duo performs ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone.’

This iconic song was originally a show tune from the musical Carousel. Talented composers Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein wrote the song in 1945.

In later years, other artists lent their vocals to the tune and gave it mainstream media attention. Elvis Presley released his rendition of the single in 1967 and even titled his album after the song.

“When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.”

Mat and Savanna Shaw are a talented father-daughter team that enjoy making music together.

After they posted a video online of their duet to ‘The Prayer,’ it quickly went viral. The duo garnered millions of views online, so Mat and Savanna decided to continue to create and bring smiles to our faces through more uplifting covers.

“Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.”

On YouTube, the duo shared that they decided to record this inspiring song in response to Hurricane Ian. “We have been devastated to hear about the destruction and suffering caused by the hurricane in Florida. To all those affected, and to any of you walking your own paths of trial - may this song bring some hope.”

We are thinking of all of our brothers and sisters dealing with the aftermath of this storm.
