A Prayer to See Myself through God's Eyes | Your Daily Prayer

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? In our daily prayer and devotional, we consider that too often, our view of ourselves is clouded by shame, insecurity, and the critical voice in our own heads. We imagine God sees us the same way — through the lens of our failures and flaws. But Scripture tells us something very different. Through Jesus Christ, we are chosen, loved, redeemed, and clothed in righteousness. God doesn’t see us through condemnation but through the finished work of the cross. He calls us His children, His holy people, and His treasured possession. Keneesha Saunders-Liddie reminds us that learning to see ourselves through God’s eyes is life-changing. Instead of walking in guilt or striving for worth, we can rest in the truth that His love is unconditional and His gaze never wavers. To God, you are not a mistake, a burden, or too far gone. You are His.

You Are Not A Burden to God | Your Nightly Prayer

Do you ever feel like you’re bothering God when you pray? Maybe you start with, “Sorry to trouble You again, Lord…” or wonder if He’s tired of hearing the same requests. In tonight's prayer and devotional Rachel Wojo, host of Untangling Prayer, reminds us that God never rolls His eyes at our prayers. He doesn’t view us as burdens—He treasures every word. Psalm 116:5 paints a picture of God’s heart: full of compassion, kindness, and mercy. The Hebrew word for compassion, racham, reflects a deep, tender love—like that of a mother for her child. Your Heavenly Father is infinitely patient, never too busy, and never tired of hearing your voice. So whether you’ve prayed about something once or a thousand times, remember this: you are His beloved child. Children are never burdens to a good Father. 📖 Tonight’s Scripture: Psalm 116:5 “How kind the Lord is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours!” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Heavenly Father, Forgive me for the times I’ve treated prayer like I was intruding. Thank You that Your compassion never runs dry and that You delight in every word I speak to You. Tonight, I let go of the lie that I’m “too much” for You and receive the truth that I am loved, welcomed, and cherished. Thank You for listening every single time I call. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Finding Stillness in a Loud World

Life today moves at a relentless pace—schedules overflow, phones buzz with constant notifications, and even the good work we do at home, in our communities, or in church can leave us feeling exhausted. In your nightly prayer and devotional, Greg Grandchamp reflects on the fact that it’s easy to believe stillness is impossible, but God gently invites us to pause: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Stillness isn’t about doing nothing. It’s about deliberately creating space to step away from the noise and open your heart to God’s presence. When we make room for quiet moments, we allow Him to restore our souls and remind us of His peace. Jesus modeled this perfectly. Surrounded by crowds, demands, and pressure, He often withdrew to be alone with the Father. His ministry flowed out of those moments of stillness and prayer. The same can be true for us. As we prioritize intentional time with God, we discover renewed strength, quiet confidence, and a deeper trust in His plans. Stillness doesn’t mean life will suddenly become calm—but it means our hearts can be calm in the middle of chaos. Over time, this discipline of quiet will bring serenity that extends beyond prayer time and into daily life.

A Prayer to Savor Summer's End | Your Daily Prayer

Each believer has been given unique spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit—not for personal gain, but for the building up of the Body of Christ. Whether it's teaching, mercy, discernment, encouragement, or leadership, these gifts are meant to be recognized, stirred up, and released in love. 📖 “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” — Romans 12:6 📖 “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” — 1 Corinthians 12:7 📖 “Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you...” — 2 Timothy 1:6 Today’s prayer calls us to invite God to awaken, activate, and guide the spiritual gifts He has placed within us. Whether you've been unsure of your gifting or afraid to step into it, this is your moment to say, “Yes, Lord—use me.”

A Prayer for Awakening Spiritual Gifts | Your Daily Prayer

Each believer has been uniquely equipped by God with spiritual gifts meant to build up the body of Christ. In Romans 12:5-8, Paul emphasizes that every gift matters equally—whether serving, teaching, encouraging, or leading. Our call is not to compare but to faithfully use what God has entrusted to us. In today's prayer and devotional, Laura Bailey reminds us that awakening our spiritual gifts often begins with noticing the needs around us and asking the Holy Spirit to empower us to respond. When we live this way, we reveal Christ’s love, glorify God, and experience the joy of serving in unity with others. Even children can learn this truth. As Laura shared with her daughters, embracing each other’s strengths helps us see the beauty of God’s design for the body of Christ. Our gifts were never meant to be hidden; they are meant to be shared. Today's Bible Reading: "So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” – Romans 12:5-8, NIV

A Prayer for Finding Balance in Life's Demands | Your Daily Prayer

Life today is overflowing with constant noise and endless responsibilities — from work demands to family schedules, to the never-ending stream of emails and notifications. It’s easy to feel stretched too thin, constantly pulled in competing directions. In today's devotional and prayer, Heidi Vegh reminds us that the key to balance isn’t found in managing every detail perfectly, but in surrendering our days to God. Matthew 6:33 calls us to seek first His Kingdom — to make God our priority before anything else. When we start our mornings with Him, we allow His Spirit to order our steps, giving us peace in the middle of chaos. Balance doesn’t mean doing everything; it means doing the right things, with God’s guidance. Sometimes His answer may be to rest instead of striving, to connect with a friend instead of checking one more task off the list. When we make room for holy interruptions, we find the kind of balance our souls truly crave. Today's Bible Reading: “But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His Kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right attitude and character of God), and all these things will be given to you also.” – Matthew 6:33 (AMP) Key Takeaways Balance begins with priorities — seeking God first each day. Surrendering control allows God to redirect our days according to His will. The Holy Spirit provides gentle nudges and guidance when we feel overwhelmed. True balance comes not from doing it all, but from living aligned with God’s purposes. Let’s Pray Lord, life is busy and overwhelming, and I need balance. I surrender my plans, to-do lists, and ideals into Your hands. Guide me with Your Spirit, reminding me to start each day with You. Show me what to lay down, what to pick up, and how to create space for rest. Thank You for caring about every detail of my life and for promising to order my steps when I seek You first. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lord, Help Me to Forgive Tonight | Your Nightly Prayer

Forgiveness isn’t easy. In our nightly prayer and devotional, Clarence Haynes Jr. recounts how his struggle to forgive lasted over two decades. He knew all the right verses, even encouraged others to forgive, but inside he wrestled with bitterness toward one person who had wounded him deeply. What he learned—and what Scripture makes clear—is that forgiveness is not a suggestion but a command. And it’s not rooted in the offender’s apology or worthiness, but in the fact that God forgave us first. Unforgiveness feels powerful, but in reality, it imprisons us. The longer we cling to it, the more bitter and bound we become. True freedom begins when we release our right to hold on to the offense and entrust the outcome to God. Forgiveness doesn’t mean excusing sin or pretending nothing happened. It means letting go and allowing the Lord to heal us. The real question is not can you forgive, but do you want to? Even a hesitant “yes” is enough for God to begin His work in your heart.

Chris Pratt Prays on Instagram and Urges Fans to Join Him in Prayer

Chris Pratt led a prayer on Instagram and urged fans to join him in prayer. The popular Hollywood actor went on social media and asked people to stop what they were doing and join him in prayer. Watch the short but powerful clip to listen to Chris pray on the social media platform.

Hollywood is generally not considered a place or industry friendly to religion and people of faith. In fact, Hollywood can be downright hostile to religious individuals. Typically, in films and television shows, people of faith are portrayed as dumb, evil or both. On the very rare occasion, the hero, the protagonist, in a movie is a person of faith.

Despite Hollywood's frequent unfriendly portrayal of people of faith, that has not stopped Chris. Chris has spoken of and shared his faith and belief in Jesus Christ on several occasions. In his latest display and demonstration of his faith, Chris took to Instagram, where he prayed and asked others to join him in prayer.

During his prayer, Chris asked the Lord for peace, calm and to help him momentarily lay aside life's many distractions so that he can focus on what really matters.

"Lord, You say, be still and know that I am God, Psalm 46:10," Chris prayed. "Be still and know that I am God. In this moment, please, Lord, calm my restless mind. Quiet my anxious heart. Help me set aside distractions and choose what gives life and gives peace. Isaiah 26:3, You keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You. Lord, fill me with strength to turn my attention toward You that I find rest and joy in Your presence, amen."

Christian music singer Lauren Daigle commented on Chris's post: "Prayer is a miracle. Something so simple but so powerful."

After his prayer, Chris gave the all-clear for fans to continue looking through social media or, an even better idea, to put their phones down entirely. He suggested people head outside and enjoy the great outdoors and reconnect with a friend.

Psalm 46:10 "Be at peace in the knowledge that I am God: I will be lifted up among the nations, I will be honored through all the earth."

What to Do With Empty Rhetoric: A Christian Conversation

Rest from a Performative Faith | Your Nightly Prayer

Like the Israelites at the Red Sea (Exodus 14), sometimes God’s call isn’t to fight or run—but to be still. That command feels counterintuitive when fear and striving push us to do more. In tonight's prayer and devotional, we are reminded that spiritual stillness isn’t defeat—it’s trust. Amber Ginter reflects on how many of us live out a performative faith, one that feels like we must continually prove ourselves to God and others. But salvation doesn’t come from our effort; it comes by grace through faith. When we rest in Him, we move from striving to surrender. Being still is one of the deepest acts of obedience. It reorients our hearts from performance to presence. It’s not passive—it’s an active declaration that God is in control and His grace is enough.

Reflections That Save - James 1:19-24

Viewers are encouraged to slow their speech, temper their anger, and receive God’s truth with humility. Like a mirror that reveals but cannot transform, the Word only reshapes us when we respond with action. This reflection is a call to spiritual integrity: to live what we profess and let obedience become the fruit of true faith.

He Sees You Starting Over | Your Nightly Prayer

Starting over isn’t easy. Whether it’s a new job, a relationship, or an unexpected life change, new beginnings can feel overwhelming. In this evening's prayer and devotional, Scripture reminds us that God treasures even the smallest steps forward. Britt Mooney reflects on Abraham, who was called to begin anew at eighty years old. What looked like uncertainty became the foundation of God’s promises to His people. In the same way, our fresh starts, however small or stressful, are never insignificant when placed in God’s hands. God often works through humble beginnings so that His glory shines through. Just as He multiplied loaves and fish, He can take your new season—no matter how fragile—and grow something beautiful and eternal. Don’t despise the small starts. Trust Him to be faithful with them.

A Prayer for When Support Fades | Your Daily Prayer

There are seasons when the people we counted on—friends, family, mentors—seem to step away. Whether through misunderstanding, distance, or disappointment, the support we once felt slips away, and we’re left wondering how to carry the weight alone. But Scripture reminds us that God never leaves us, even when others do. 📖 “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” — Psalm 27:10 📖 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 📖 “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” — Hebrews 13:5 Today’s prayer invites you to bring your loneliness to the One who sees and stays. God knows your pain. He’s not surprised by the silence or the absence—and He will sustain you through it.
