If there ever was a great act of love and protection, then this is it. In this video, a dad rushes to save an unconscious cowboy before a bull charges into them. 

It is just another day at a rodeo in this clip. There is an 18-year-old boy named Cody Hooks who is taking on the bull-like usual. As the bull takes off, you can see the boy begins to lose his grip falling to the ground and going unconscious, he is unable to move or get up to run out of the gate. 

Two others come to try and distract the bull from him, however, the attempts can only hold the bull back for so long. Suddenly, Cody’s own father jumps into the rodeo right as the bull is about to charge at his helpless son. The bull comes and rams them, but the father takes the blow for his son to protect him from worse injury or even death. 

Cody shares in the interview that his dad saved him from terrible head injuries that the bull could have caused. The father is being officially given the title of “Father of the Year.” The father says, “I would do anything to save my children, no matter what it is.” 

There is no way that we can watch this and not think about the love of God the Father for us. God in heaven came down to earth to defeat death and bring us back to Himself. Jesus went to great lengths of sacrifice to Himself on our behalf. 

This great love of God is for the entire world. Anyone who believes in Him can receive this beautiful sacrifice of love from the Father and be protected from eternal death. Jesus gives us life and hope just like this father gives his son a second chance.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

To all Christians we need to keep our country our prayers.

Did you know Angels come in mysterious packages? In fact, the angel in this story happens to be a red plaid dressed lumberjack in the shape of a best friend by the name of Arthur. 

Arthur saw something in Noah Thompson that he couldn’t see himself and this construction worker auditioned on Idol after his friend signed him up. Now he’s going to Hollywood. 

I don’t know about you but after watching American Idol, I’ll be nervously waiting and praying Noah makes it through the competition. You see, Noah Thompson is a young construction worker who didn’t think he had time for dreams, nor did he think he had the talent to make it on some show like American Idol. 

Instead, he was focused on doing the best he could to provide for his growing little family, including his two-year-old son, Walker. But Noah was gifted an incredible voice. His deep, raw, southern voice could almost beat out Luke Bryan and his friends took notice. 

They believed Noah could perform with the best and every time they brought it up, Noah said he didn’t have the time to chase silly dreams. But his best friend Arthur wouldn’t take no for an answer. So, Arthur followed God’s nudge and contacted American Idol. 

When Arthur was asked why he signed Noah up behind his back, he said, Noah’s just got pure, raw talent, man.”

Finally, when Noah had a chance to perform in front of Katie, Luke, and Lionel he received the news he never expected. All three judges voted in favor of him. 

Lionel gave him the ultimate compliment when he said, ““You’ve got a real life storytelling voice. It’s believable.” Katie added, “You are the American Dream.” 

But what made this story extra special was when the judges invited Arthur in after the audition. They thanked him for not giving up on his best friend and being the wind beneath his wings. Katie said Arthur, “Thank you, Arthur, for seeing him better than he could see himself.”

The way Arthur believes in Noah is akin to the story of Jonathan and David in the Bible. A friendship forged in faith, strength, and love. May we all have friends that lift us up and carry us even when we can’t.

This story has a fairytale ending and reminds us all there is immense power in love and family. 

This poor abandoned dog was terrified of people until a foster family changed her life. Piper had been dumped on the side of the road and was brought to a homeless shelter. Upon her arrival, the team knew if they didn't get Piper into a home or foster home soon, she would regress even further than she already had. 

In the beginning of this video, you see Piper “pancaked” to the wall and trying to hide from the noise, the strange smells, and unfamiliar surroundings. But what breaks your heart is how she cowered when any humans came near. This revealed her past life must have been filled with trauma, abuse, and of course abandonment.

Piper didn’t know what it meant to be loved. Out of concern for Piper’s future, Mady, a team member at the shelter, sat in Piper’s kennel trying to coax her to come out of her corner. 

That night Mady posted a photo of Piper on their Facebook page. It was a picture of Piper hiding in a corner surrounded by newspapers with an honest caption about the heartbroken pup. “The environment at the shelter has already proven to be too much. She could really use the comfort of a foster home.”

When Angela, a foster mom saw the post, she messaged right away that she and her housemate Courtney would come in the morning and take Piper home. 

When she arrived the next morning, she didn’t expect Piper to be so scared and to cower in every corner she could find. After a bit of coaxing, they got her out of the building, only for Piper to hide behind the first thing she could find which happened to be a cat carrier. 

The pup was terrified and didn’t know what it meant to have a human for a friend. But after they got her into the car, Angela was able to take her home. And that’s when the transformation happened. 

She was met by Angela and Courtney’s other dogs who reassured Piper she was about to embark on the greatest adventure—to find a home full of love, amazing belly rubs, playtime, treats, soft warm beds, and regular meals. 

Within an hour, Piper came out of her shell. She raced around the backyard with her new playmates, and you could see the light coming back into her eyes. Over the next few weeks, something else happened too. Instead of being just a foster dog, Angela and Courtney fell in love with Piper and decided their foster house would be Piper’s forever home.

Piper will never again be abandoned or be terrified of humans because she now has two amazing ‘hoomans’ who adore her. Isn't it amazing what the power of unconditional love can do?

Watch this mesmerizing footage of a growing water lily that shows why they are the “tyrants of the deep” — you’ve never seen a more intimidating plant!

You may be thinking, “How could a plant be intimidating or scary?” If the spikes in the picture aren’t enough, the time-lapsed video will change your mind. If I were a plant in that water, I’d be terrified!

“The Green Planet,” a show on BBC Earth, shows viewers some of the incredible plants found on Earth whether they’re beautiful or horrifying. This montage of a growing water lily should impress and frighten you!

The music in the footage definitely adds to the fear factor. The ominous music sounds like it would play during every suspenseful scene in a horror movie. And don’t even get me started on those close up shots. I would stay as far away as possible.

Before the leaf blooms, the water lily uses the large bud to clear space for itself by swinging around the surface of the water. It’s like one of those medieval, spiked clubs. No thank you. Just look at how the victim plants recoil to protect themselves!

That fully-grown leaf can get up to 8 FEET ACROSS. I wouldn’t even willingly kayak or canoe near those things! Not only do these green giants push other life out of the way to clear space for its gigantic leaves, they also block sunlight from plants below them. Seems just a bit rude if you ask me.

Don’t think water lilies are tyrants? Just sit through the brutal footage of its spikes impaling nearby competing plants — a ruthless tyrant for sure! 

Honestly, I may have nightmares about those huge spikes. Regardless of how terrifying the later lily appears, nature is astoundingly beautiful. Getting a closer look into the life cycle of one of millions of plants can remind us to appreciate the blessing of living on God’s astonishing creation — Earth.

Luke and Stjepan are incredibly talented musicians, and they really add so much emotion and passion into their performances. Their songs also have such a classic feel to them, yet also remain modern at the same time. Their music is definitely the type that you could never tire from listening to!
