Groom Shares Last Dance With Mom Dying From ALS

Grab a tissue before watching this groom share a last dance with his mom dying from ALS. The gentle giant of a groom is Anthony “Scooter” Hightower, and his beautiful momma is Terri. And, their tender moments together on the dance floor at his reception will touch your heart!

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and it is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that impacts nerve cells in both the brain and the spinal cord. ALS, in advanced stages, can cause those with the disease to lose their ability to eat,  speak, move, and even breathe. It is truly a tragic illness.

In the video, which Terri’s family posted after her passing, we see Scooter honor his mother in the kindest and loving way. He gives her the gift of a mother-son dance at his wedding. Every mother with a son looks forward to having that special dance before giving their baby boy away to another. That certainly must have been the same for Terri, and Scooter made it happen.

Scooter wheels his mother to the middle of the dance floor. With help from his father, he lifts his frail mother from the wheelchair and holds her in his arms. Scooter slowly sways to the music, safely embracing his mother and crying on her shoulder—at once, a strong protector and a tearful, little boy.

As family and friends watch the two, no one is unmoved. This is a poignant moment. We can only imagine the emotions that are felt by Terri and Scooter, their family and friends, and the reception guests.

Two things are certain. Terri taught her son well, and Terri loved her son well.

As the dance ends, Scooter gently returns his mother to her wheelchair. The guests clap and surround Terri with love and support. Terri died at the age of 59, having raised a good man, ten days after the wedding. We feel sure that Terri is dancing without limitation now.

Terri’s family shared this video so that people might learn more about ALS.

Customers Raise Money For Beloved Waffle House Waitress With Cancer

One Southern breakfast chain can boast not only an excellent employee but a whole bunch of customers who raised money for their beloved Waffle House waitress with cancer!

With 2,100 locations in 25 states, and known for simple fare and low prices, the 24/7 greasy spoon can even brag about the fact that Anthony Bourdain was a fan. Waffle House has its own record label, Waffle Music, and some of their original songs can be found blaring through the stores’ jukeboxes. All interesting stats and factoids, the real story is about Cynthia Morrison, who has worked for Georgia Waffle House for 37 years!

Meet Cynthia and her loyal customer, Joey Godfrey.

Cynthia shares that she has gotten to know her customers well over the years. She says that she regularly knows what they would like to order, as well as their names. She notes that customers really like it when their names are remembered. But, we don’t get the sense that Cynthia is remembering names for any reason other than her genuine care and concern for the patrons that she serves on a weekly basis.

Joey is one of those regular visitors. He and his family have been dining at their local Waffle House most Saturdays for five years, and when he noticed that Cynthia wasn’t working one Saturday, he became concerned. “She’s always there every Saturday,” Godfrey said. “She’s always smiling, always asking how I’m doing, how are my kids doing - it’s never about her.”

When she did return, Joey asked her if everything was okay, and, without intending to, Cynthia told him that she’d been diagnosed with stage 1 multiple myeloma and that her cancer treatments had caused side effects that prevented her from working.

Joey was particularly bothered by the news, having just lost his step-father to cancer. So saddened by the situation, Joey gave Cynthia a large tip that day. He gathered all the money he had in his possession and left it—a $120 gratuity! Joey cried harder than he had at any time since his own mother passed away.

But, Joey didn’t stop with his one-time big tip. He set up a GoFundMe page, confident that other customers would want to help out their favorite Waffle House server. Right he was. The fund raised $5,000 in just a few days, and it now sits at over $10,000!

The money will help Cynthia cover expenses for days when she is unable to work due to treatments or after the bone marrow transplant that she will likely have. Cynthia appreciates the financial assistance, but she is especially grateful for the love, care, and prayers that have been sent her way!

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Musical Duo Had Never Met In Person, Now They're Golden Buzzer Winners

Simon said it was “like a scene from a great movie” when a musical duo who’d never met in person, became Golden Buzzer winners. There are a few stranger-than-fiction parts to this pretty incredible story. Check out the video and see for yourself!

Meet now 23-year-old Flintz and 17-year-old Taylor. The two appear on stage looking as if they’ve been performing as a duo for a bit, and, more than that, they look like they could be best friends. But, this is actually their very first meeting! And, they really aren’t (nay, weren’t) an established duo!

Flintz is from Croydon, which is a large town in South London, and Taylor hails from Birmingham. The two met while on lockdown in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. They connected on social media, and, according to Flintz, they “bounced off of each other’s vibe.”

After initial introductions, we learn a little through an interview about how the two came to meet and work together. The guys explain that Taylor provided the piano music, and Flintz wrote the lyrics to the rap.

Back in front of the judges on stage at London’s Palladium, Flintz explains that he wanted to write something to encourage his younger brothers to make good choices and stay out of trouble. He had started down a wrong direction as a teenager but credits his parents with pulling him back from dangerous people and paths.

The two take their places. Taylor begins the accompaniment, which feels unique for a rap song. Flintz’ words, though, are also different from many rap songs. The lyrics are about detentions and suspensions, following the crowd and making parents proud. It’s Flintz’s story of his hard work to change his ways—to move from making poor choices to making a future for himself. The camera shows his parents and brothers, clearly moved by the performance!

Behind the wonderful, positive words is a piano that somehow complements the beats, rhythms, and rhymes of the song with an original melody. Both Flintz and Taylor impress. There is at least five seconds of silence when the song ends and before the audience reacts. They are in awe!

When the applause begins, Alesha yells out in affirmation. She and the other judges stand. The crowd goes wild. Taylor comes forward and hugs Flintz in a way that demonstrates his support of Flintz and his willingness to remain in the background. But, by accident, producers have considered the two a duet rather than a solo act with piano backing.

Flintz shared, “Then the producer asked if we both wanted a microphone, it just happened we came out and introduced ourselves and they thought we were a duo and it just worked.”

“I was the unnamed person in the background but everyone liked us as a duo,” added Taylor.

When the judges comment, they use words like: passionate, phenomenal, important, real, brilliant, and perfect. In the audience, Dad removes his glasses and wipes his eyes. He is one proud papa! When Alesha gets her turn, she says that there’s no one on the show like Flintz, and, with that, she’s up and slamming her hands down onto the Golden Buzzer!

The guys jump and hug in a storm full of gold confetti! They will now go to the live shows! It is a beautiful moment!

Two young, musical strangers brought together virtually during a pandemic and face-to-face for the first time on an enormous stage. Without playing together before and with an odd pairing of instruments, they blow away the judges. That might just make the movies!

“in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:6

Mama Dog Adopts Litter Of Kittens Found On The Street

If you weren’t a dog person before, you most certainly will be after checking out this mama dog that adopts a litter of kittens found on the street! It is beyond sweet!

It’s not clear where this loving mama dog is living, but the background music sounds like this is somewhere in Europe. We know for certain that it is not in an English-speaking country.

The mama pooch doesn’t appear to be living in the best conditions; there is a piece of cardboard, plastic, or fabric that marks her spot. But, twice in the video she gets up and retrieves a wayward kitten from the street and brings it back to safety on top of the pallet she’s providing for these furry babies—babies that are most certainly not her own.

As the video starts, two have scampered off. There is another dog in the frame, and perhaps they have been lured away by this less-concerned canine. Mama goes first after the yellow one, taking it gently into her mouth and bringing it back where it belongs.

The yellow kitty isn’t the slightest bit afraid or harmed. Mama sits just long enough to settle the kitten, but she lifts her no-doubt weary body to go back for the other.

This time, she tries to signal to the black kitten that it should follow. There are human feet in the way. But, ultimately, the protective pupper has to wrangle that one just as she did the other one!

The two roaming kitties are back with a third that is definitely the better behaved of the trio, staying put and making things easier on the mama dog. Though we don’t see them on the video, there may be babies of another species somewhere. But, whether there is one litter or two, one type or two, this devoted doggie doesn’t care. She’s looking out for these little ones, hers or not!

Wouldn’t our world be a better place if we all watched out for the little ones right in our neighborhoods or on our own streets! Wisdom doesn’t always come from scholars or aged folks. It doesn’t even have to come from a human. This sweet, loving, devoted mama dog shared a lot in just a few little moments!

“How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” Psalms 104:24

Jewelry Store Employees Fight Back Against 4 Robbers

This surveillance video gives us insight into a heroic act. Jewelry store employees fight back against 4 robbers.

As the robbers try to break into the store the jewelers bravely come at them hitting and kicking to get them to leave the store. At the start of the robbery, four young men enter the store, and a customer gets out of there quickly.

Suddenly, they begin breaking the glass of the displays to get the jewelry. The other thief goes towards another display, but the store owner comes and punches him to get him out. Suddenly we see the woman employee begin to push the guy away who is trying to steal from them. She kicks and hits, defending their store. Out of nowhere, the co-owner comes and, with a heavy chair, hits one of the robbers.

During the interview, the co-owner shares that she saw them and just picked up the chair to go attack and protect their store. Her brother is recovering from being hit in the head with a hammer.

She shares that many jewelry stores have been robbed and they have been advised to just let them take what they want, but they disagreed with that because this is their livelihood and they took charge and saved their inventory. There were other California-based robberies at jewelry stores where the thieves took a ton of products, however in this case they only got three rings.

The bravery and strength that these three workers took to protect the integrity of their store are inspiring. Watching them reminds us that we are called as Christians to stand up for what is right, even if it is hard.

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

West End Choir Earns Standing Ovation With The Greatest Showman Cover

This is an incredible picture of unity. In this video, the West End Choir earns a standing ovation with The Greatest Showman cover.

At the start, there is a slow build of each singer having a line from the song, “From Now On,” and each singer has a unique voice. Men and women in the choir give their all to this performance. Suddenly, they kick it up a notch, and all sing together various parts in their choir. They each are enjoying themselves and singing in beautiful harmonies.

One girl hits incredibly high notes with such ease and beauty. They have such stunning tone, painting and working really well together. Their voices blend perfectly. As they complete their audition, the choir comes together and finishes very professionally. The judges and crowd stand clapping for them. All of the Welsh choir celebrates and smiles.

The judges tell them that it was exceptional, they were pitch-perfect, they complimented them for being such great singers, and believed that they have a lot of potential as a group.

I loved watching the unity in this performance. No one person hogged the performance; they truly knew how to work and shine together. They had a beautiful sound quality and harmonized very well.

The way that they work together reminds us of the goal of perfect unity within the church body. We are all different in our giftings, but we are all a part of one body of Christ. When we come together unified in the Spirit, we can function beautifully as a team.

“This makes for harmony among the members so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:25-27

Singer Surprises Strangers At The Park With Gospel Serenade

Sometimes people are in the right place at the right time. In this video, a singer surprises strangers at the park with a gospel serenade.

DeWayne Crocker Jr. begins by introducing himself and his friends from different organizations. They are sharing love with people at a garden center and the gathering place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They start out with shots of espresso to get energized.

First, DeWayne walks up to a sweet woman named Robin, who is sitting on a park bench. He tells her that he would like to sing for her today. After he sings a beautiful short  rendition of Jireh, DeWayne gives Robin a gift card and tells her that he is with a non-profit called “I Like Giving.” He continues to surprise different people. One woman asks if he can sing for her toddler son.

At the end of the video, the guitarist asks DeWayne what his favorite part about singing and the way it impacts others is. He starts by saying that music is a universal language and has a great capacity in reaching people from all places.

He explains how music can help draw people to Christ. They celebrate a day of helping others smile with music and generosity.

Watching this group of young people take time to focus on ministering and blessing others in their community is inspiring. They remind us of the value in giving of our talents, time, and resources.

God has called us to have generous hearts, and we can model His generosity through our gifts and sacrifices for others. Everything we have comes from the Lord, so we can freely give to others today.

“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” 1 Chronicles 29:14

7-Year-Old Brings Down The House With 'Footprints In The Sand' Dance Audition

This is a must-see performance. A 7-year-old brings down the house with her ‘Footprints in the Sand’ dance audition.

In this precious video, one of the judges surprises a little girl to share that her dreams are coming true. She is looking for Skylar Blu. As she comes into the dance studio, the little girl dancing opens her mouth wide, and the other girls scream.

Skylar finds out that she has been selected to audition for Britain’s Got Talent. Skylar says, “I’m super happy!” She runs into her friend's arms, crying and celebrating.

Now, as Skylar is auditioning, she talks with the judges and shares that she brought her mom with her. As she gets set, Skylar begins dancing to 'Footprints in the Sand' by Leona Lewis. This young girl is graceful, entertaining, and passionate in her performance.

As the music changes keys and becomes more powerful, Skylar really wows the crowd with her dancing. She leaps, twirls, and bends beautifully. Her mother is crying at the incredible performance of her daughter. Her dramatic and emotional performance leaves the judges and audience standing and clapping.

At the end of her dance, she looks back at her mom, and they smile at each other. The judges tell her that she is incredible and she has such a bright future. They all say yes and Skylar tears up, smiles, and says thank you. After, she runs into her mom’s arms and hugs her.

Skylar gives this performance her all. Even though she is so young and it is intimidating, Skylar bravely takes to the stage and dances from her heart. Skylar can inspire us to be brave through the help of God.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13

Shy Singer Stuns The Judges With Big Opera Voice

Prepare to be amazed by this performance. In this video, a shy singer stuns the judges with a big opera voice.

At the start of the clip, a man named Maxwell Thorpe introduces himself to the judges. He appears very bashful. Maxwell sings in the streets to people for a living. He is asked if this is the biggest audience he has ever performed for, and he responds “yes.” With his family and friends in the audience cheering him on, Maxwell begins.

Maxwell starts to sing, and his voice is so rich and powerful. The judges' faces are in pure shock. His skills are incredible. He has selected the song 'Caruso’ by Luciano Pavarotti. He takes you to a new world with his powerhouse vocals and his fullness of sound.

The crowd cannot stop cheering and standing during the performance. Simon looks amazed. At the end of the song, everyone, including the judges, stand cheering.

Maxwell is complimented on his amazing passion and voice. The judges share how they were shocked by his shyness and then such a confident performance. They tell him that they believe he is heading for the big time. They tell Maxwell that he is headed for bigger places than the sidewalk.

I love how Maxwell completely wows us. He is an unexpected surprise. It was almost like being at a professional opera concert like Andrea Bocelli. Maxwell shows the kind of gift that can truly only come from God.

The Lord gives good gifts and special skills so that His name will be glorified. It is hard not to worship the Lord when you hear the power of this incredible voice.

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
